Napoli star McTominay suffers ankle injury in Scotland win over Poland

The 27-year-old was subbed off at minute 76 due to a ‘minor injury’ as per The Independent.

Tuesday’s printed edition of Gazzetta dello Sport, on page 14, reports that McTominay will be assessed by club doctors upon his return to Naples today.

The pink paper reports that McTominay’s ankle had an ‘unnatural twist’, so Napoli doctors and coach Antonio Conte hope the Scotland international won’t be forced to the sidelines when Serie A resumes this coming weekend.

The Partenopei, the current Serie A leaders, will host Claudio Ranieri’s Roma on Sunday, November 24, at 18:00 CET (16:00 GMT).

McTominay has two goals and two assists in nine Serie A appearances this season. His contract at the Stadio Maradona runs out in June 2028.
